Translate medical abbreviations into their expanded forms. An understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe dictated reports.Work closely with our billing department to ensure accuracy of each patient’s visit.Fax and mail medical records to medical practices, patients, insurance companies and other offices.Communicate with patients, medical practices, insurance companies, and other offices regarding medical record requests and patient information.Comply with specific standards that apply to the style of medical records and to the legal and ethical requirements for preparing medical documents in a timely fashion and for keeping patient information confidential.Support quality control in our medical documentation by ensuring all clinical data, lab or other test results, and the interpretation of the results by the physician are recorded accurately in the medical record.
